@ 1:30 am- nuttin much

Hello *echo, echo, echo*

Yes, I do realise that by now, the two or three visitors I had have probably given me up for dead. Apologies.

Has anyone experience with Nucleus? How does it compare to Wordpress?

I really need to pee (4)

@ 9:19 am- nuttin much, personal

The electrician came, did nothing, then took a dump in my toilet. I cannot go into the bathroom for fear of death by stench. A generalised stereotype this may be, but why are all handyman so revolting!?

I am loosing chunks off my teeth. Life is not my friend. I want to kick it in the balls and spit in its face.

Holy crap.

my err… site

It was an assignment from last year that started out as a half decent idea, then half way through realised the actual product wasn’t turning out as nice as the plan, and at the end the last minute rush to finish resulted in cutting corners and leaving out some parts that fell into the ‘’cant be f*cked'’ category.

Spent today fixing it up (waste not lar?) and added: extra bit of content, a loading bar (which is good since the thing’s quite a sizable bitch to load), and a music on/off thing. All in all, took longer than I had wanted to spend. But then again, I was expecting to have a try, realise I donno how to do anything and give up. So actually being able to get it working is quite satisfying. Especially when I’m feeling rather rusty after 3 months of doing jack all.

My final file is messier than my usual standards cos I didn’t really have a plan of action and just kept adding/changing things on a trial and error basis. Cant be bothered with it any more, but I’ll probably regret it later when I go back to it and cant find my way through the spaghetti library and timeline. Also, I’ve had to listen to the music loop about 500000 times while stumbling around trying to get the on/off music to stop glitching. I think I did many things in less than direct ways, but oh well, donno any better. As long as it works aye? Well, I think it works….

Merry Xmasness (0)

@ 11:15 am- nuttin much

Christmas day, one of the very few days of the year when my entire family has nothing to do. Its 11:30am and I’m the only one that’s out of bed. Save for the booming voice of our overly zealous Italian neighbour, the house lies in a rare state of serenity.

If only they can rest more; slow down and relax more - take a holiday, have a break, or at least stay in bed for the whole day.

Many warm wishes for the holiday season, and a jovial New Year.

The Devil Wears Prada (2)

@ 7:21 pm- nuttin much

Saw The Devil Wears Prada on Friday night at the (overly extravagant) Hoyts cinema in Melbourne Central. I have been looking forward to this movie for ages, ever since hearing about its production a year or so ago. I read the book some time in 2003/04 when it was first published, and found it cute, entertaining, and made me long for a pair of Jimmy Choos.

I really enjoyed the movie, it was funny and entertaining, but I do feel that it hasn’t done the book justice. It needed more. More fashion, more glamour, more pretty things that costs more than your entire month’s salary. For a book that was ladened with the world’s biggest brands and labels, the big screen adaptation failed to deliver enough eye candy. You might want to go see it for the story, but I wanted to see the fashion!

Have been reading a lot of food blogs lately, and feeling…. some what… inspired. Inspired to do what I’m not too sure, but a little inspired none-the-less.

Its home alone weekend again, leading on to some undetermined number of one-some days in the coming week (did that make any sense?). Le Sigh…

A weekend gone by (0)

@ 2:18 pm- nuttin much, adventures

Saturday was spent traveling across the city in pursuit of a myriad of activities. Travelled to the Dandenong Ranges with a group of urban city boys, stopping along the way to playing with boomerangs. Yes boomerangs. Made our way back to the Globe 2 Globe World Music Festival, with a quick dinner stop along the way. Braved the freezing night air to jump along to some funky music and giggle like a little girl as fireworks lit up the sky. The night might have been still young but we were cold and tired. Still managed to continue our journey to Chapel St, to a small and all too cramped bar, where Himself was due for a cameo appearance. Stayed just long enough for the heavy clouds of cigarette smoke to settle into our clothes and skin. Home welcomed us back with its usual creature comforts. A shower, a bath and 10 mins of tv later, I was asleep in front of my little fan heater curled up in the most unusual position.

Sunday was much a blur. I remember waking up close to 1pm, having food, then before I knew it it was time to watch Idol.

Today (Monday) is much the same. Although I might try to achieve more, like maybe walking to the mailbox.

Old flash work (0)

@ 9:14 pm- nuttin much, schooling

My final Flash assignment from last semester, which is also the second piece I’ve ever made in Flash. Its silly but kinda fun…. sorta…

I made a yummy pumpkin soup for dinner tonight. I’m quite proud of my pumpkin soups - one of the few things I can conjure up in the kitchen stadium. Other culinary delights under my belt include toasting bread in the oven, steamed veggies and the occasional fried rice. I am also a whizz with the microwave and caned goods. Funnily enough, I prepare most of the meals in this little ménage pour deux.

films and caffeine (0)

@ 12:49 am- nuttin much, adventures

MIFF is on for 2006. I enjoyed it last year, even though I only managed to see 2 films and one free talk, but now I have an even softer spot for it since our “Design a (fictitious) MIFF Poster” assignment.

My final poster and a slight variation of it.
I don’t know why, but the more I look at them, the more I seem to dislike them.

Anyway, plenty of good films in the festival. Tonight I saw the Animation Shorts Program 1, which was great fun. Hoping to see more in the weeks to come.

Its 1am and I’m craving coffee. Himself is still at school working hard. I’ve tried tea, coffee alternatives, hot milk but the craving still nags. So now I’m bloated from too much liquid and is having a coffee on top of it. Had to open a new jar of the good stuff, and ahhhh! The smell is deep, smooth and alluring. I found myself inhaling deeply but not getting enough, and it makes my head a little lighter, but in a good way. Kind of like getting high on the smell of coffee. Mmmm…. I think it, the sweet sweet scent of fresh coffee, is one of the little pleasures in life.

Anatomy for Beginners (0)

@ 3:38 pm- nuttin much

Last night I was suffering a severe case of verbal constipation faced with my 1000+ words movie review for the Video class. Himself on the other hand was snugged up with a doona on the couch watching the ever so delectable Anatomy for Beginners - the first ever televised human dissections. Yum-o! A real human body cut up right before your very eyes. Would you like fries with those buttocks? Yes, yes, I know, in the name of science and all that.

Afterwards, Himself came in to tell me about the fascinations of the human body, and I basically yelled for him to shut up before he even got a proper sentence out.

Him: They did an incision here…
Me: *blocks ears and shuts eyes* LALALA I DON’T WANNA LIIIIISTEEEEEN

Very mature, I know. But you see, for I’m the uber squeamish type, who finds the sight of a paper cut hard to stomach (and to think my father had pined high hopes of me becoming a doctor). I am of the opinion that the bodily components inside the body should be kept just there. Why else would we be created that way? Else we’d all be walking around rubbing lungs and shaking kidneys with each other. Ee-eww

Normality restored (0)

@ 7:38 pm- nuttin much

Back home inn Australia now, and back to school too. First day of class today, I’ve had 2 classes, which equates to a total of 7hrs in the classroom… @_@ Tomorrow I finish class at 9:30pm, not the most desirable thing on cold dark wintery nights. Topped with a 45min train ride and the walk to and fro stations, I would probably get home close to 11pm. My guess is that Wednesday nights will soon become my least favourite night of the week.

Still have to sort out my vast library of Photos From China.

Himself and myself are planning on road tripping to Canberra this coming weekend – a long drive with too little visual stimulation along the way (paddocks after paddocks! Lordy, who knew there can be so much boring dry land). Lucky we’ve mastered the art of enjoying each other’s company, and I’m actually quite looking forward to the 8-9hr drive-a-thon.

@ 3:06 am- nuttin much

Yay, new blog, up and rolling. All new, shwanky and much more feature packed - also longer to fiddle and config. By golly, I haven’t coded a webpage in eons and all of a sudden I’m faced with all this WordPress jibberish. The site is probably very poorly tweaked. And can u believe that with all its functions and features, the darn thing breaks down when posting in Safari? And there I was testing and retesting every file trying to work out why the body of my posts kept vanishing @_@

Its time for bed. First installment over and out

P.S. hey, it’s exactly 1 week til the day of my birth
